GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Members of the University of North Dakota football team held its annual Holiday Magic for Markus event this afternoon at Altru hospital pediatrics unit.
The event, which has been held since 2002, gives holiday presents to hospitalized children and their families. The football team raises money throughout the year, culminating with today's gift-giving event.
The charity is named after Markus Bryant, a teenage Fighting Sioux fan, who before succumbing to cancer, spent time with the team during its 2001 championship season.
