ORLANDO, Fla. ? The University of North Dakota team dropped an outdoor match to Fairleigh Dickinson this morning in Orlando, losing 5-2 to the Knights.
The Fighting Sioux dropped the top four of six singles flights and lost the doubles point to fall to 9-4 on the season.
Senior Katie Wessman (Fargo, N.D.) and freshman Tiffany Reisenauer (Dickinson, N.D.) each earned singles victories, then teamed to claim UND's lone doubles win of the morning.
Wessman picked up a straight-set victory (6-2, 6-1) over Jinny DeCarlos in No. 5 doubles, while Reisenauer defeated Christina Martine in two straight (6-2, 6-2). Wessman and Reisenauer then combined to defeat DeCarlos and Martin in No. 3 doubles action with an 8-6 win.
The Fighting Sioux continue their spring Florida swing on Wednesday morning against Long Island.
