BROOKINGS, S.D. -- For the third-straight meet, Alec Anderson led the University of North Dakota men's cross country team, this time earning himself a 10th-place finish at the SDSU Classic.
Anderson, a freshman out of Chaska, Minn., ran a time of 25 minutes, 59.17 seconds to top all UND runners on the day. It's been a very solid debut for him, as he's led UND in his first three collegiate meets.
Junior Drew Campbell (Lake Elmo, Minn.) was right behind Anderson in 11th, finishing in a time of 26:04.48 in the 8K race. Sophomore Connor Danielson earned another top-20 finish for the team, placing 20th behind a time of 26:42.28.
South Dakota State's Joel Reichow led all runners, coming in first with a time of 25:26.40. The Jackrabbits also placed first in the team standings, with 26 team points. UND was third with a score of 78.
Next for North Dakota was junior Cataldo DiDonna, who crossed the line in 26:45.74 to come in 22nd. Rounding out the UND top five was senior Mark Harries, who finished 23rd with a time of 26:45.74.
Sophomore Scott Kvidera (Minnetonka, Minn.) was right behind those two in 25th, and he clocked a time of 26:53.43.
After a weekend off, North Dakota will host the UND Ron Pynn Classic on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Ray Richards Golf Course.
