NASHVILLE-- The Nashville Predators have signed former UND forward
Grant Mismash to a two-year, entry-level contract, announced Monday. His contract will begin in the 2021-22 season.
A former second-round pick of the Preds (2017, pick 61), Mismash scored a career-high 10 goals and added nine assists in his senior season to help the Fighting Hawks to back-to-back NCHC Penrose Cups. The team added a conference tournament title and the top seed in its return to the NCAA Tournament.
Mismash etched those 19 points despite missing eight games before returning for the NCAA Regional. There, Mismash returned and scored in the 5-1 win over American International in the regional semifinal and played in the regional final.
Prior to his injury which stole most of February and the beginning of March, Mismash tallied five goals in the January and had 10 points (4g, 6a) in the 10 games to start the season in the Omaha NCHC pod.
He finishes his UND career with 71 points (32-39--71) in 117 career games played. The Edina, Minn., native was an NCHC All-Rookie Team member as a freshman.
He is now the sixth member of the 2020-21 UND team to sign a professional contract in the last week, joining fellow draft picks defenseman
Jacob Bernard-Docker and forward
Shane Pinto with the Ottawa Senators and free agent signees defenseman
Matt Kiersted (Florida), forward
Jordan Kawaguchi (Dallas) and goalie
Adam Scheel (Dallas).
