GRAND FORKS, N.D. - In the second USCHO.com women's hockey poll of the season there was not a whole lot of movement, but the weekend split with No. 4/6 Boston University was good enough for the Sioux (1-1-0) to jump into the top 10 at the 10 spot.
It is only the second time in program history UND has cracked the top 10 in either major poll. Last time came during the 2008-09 season after a 7-2-1 start.
The Sioux will return to action this weekend as they host defending national champion, and top-ranked, Minnesota Duluth (0-0-0) to open conference play for both teams. It is the second-consecutive season the Sioux have opened league play against the defending national champion. In 2009-10, the Sioux split the opening series with No. 1 Wisconsin.
This weekend's action is scheduled for Friday and Sunday at the Ralph Engelstad Arena with game times scheduled for 7:07 p.m. and 2:07 p.m., respectively.
