All donation and student-athlete appearance requests must be approved by UND Athletics prior to taking place or being fulfilled. Student-athletes are not permitted to make appearances on behalf of the Athletics Department without prior approval. Additionally, student-athletes cannot be compensated for events hosted by or on behalf of the Athletics Department (i.e., community service for service hours credit).

Student-athletes may engage in name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities outside the scope of UND Athletics. NIL opportunities are pursued directly by the student-athlete, and the Athletic Department is not involved in the facilitation of those activities. Questions regarding NIL can be directed to the Assistant AD for Compliance, Michelle Svilpe, at michelle.svilpe@und.edu.

Before requesting a donation or student athlete appearance, please read all rules & guidelines on the following page. Requests violating these rules will be immediately denied.

Student Athlete Appearances

• Student-athletes will not be asked to do community service during the first week of classes, last week of classes, or finals week. Student athletes are available on a very limited basis in summer months.
• All Student Athlete appearance and Donation requests must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the event. 
• Student-athletes who are requested for appearances will be contacted by a member of the marketing staff or academic and support services staff when it has been approved in writing via request form [see below].

Donation Requests

• All donation requests should be submitted at least two week s prior to when they are needed in-hand. Any requests submitted less then two weeks out may not be fulfilled.
• Student-athletes and coaches should refer all requests directly to Associate AD of Marketing/Communications, Nicole Letofsky at nicole.letofsky@und.edu..
• Requests MUST be approved by the compliance department in accordance to NCAA policy. If approved, a member of the marketing team will notify you to fulfill.
  • Requests will only be approved for non-profit organizations and benefit events, in the state of North Dakota and up to 100 mile radius out-of-state (NCAA Rule).
  • The University of North Dakota staff and student-athletes are NOT permitted to participate in or provide memorabilia for fundraising activities or promotions that will directly or indirectly benefit any student(s) in grades 9-12.
• NO memorabilia will be accepted to provide to student-athletes to sign.
• A specified amount of autographed inventory will be made available for donation requests during the fiscal year. This inventory is limited and will not be replenished again until the start of the next fiscal year. Items will NOT be accepted from outside parties for autographs.
• Donation items will NOT be provided as birthday/retirement/etc. gifts or for self-fundraising activities
• One item may be requested for each event once a year.
