GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota senior Steph Frey has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Swimmer of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.

Frey, a native of Bemidji, Minn., enjoyed several outstanding performances in UND's dual-meet win over South Dakota State last Saturday. She won the 100 breast (1:03.54) and 100 free (51.54) and also helped the Fighting Hawks to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:45.67) and a third-place showing in the 200 free relay (1:40.67).

Northern Arizona sophomore Tanya Kurach was named the WAC Diver of the Week.

UND will now have one final meet before the conference championships with a Feb. 3-4 trip to the University of Minnesota. The WAC meet runs Feb. 22-25 in Houston.
