GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- The University of North Dakota Department of Athletics is proud to unveil its Flight Plan. This strategic plan dovetails into UND's One UND Plan that began in 2017.
The core athletics values as defined in this plan of accountability, integrity and loyalty are in addition to UND's core values of community, discovery, diversity, inclusivity, liberal arts and lifelong learning. This plan was constructed internally through the hard work of key athletics staff without the use of a consultant.
"Our staff did a spectacular job in putting this plan together in such a short amount of time," UND Director of Athletics
Bill Chaves said. "We also want to thank all of our groups external to our department that provided feedback for us during the process - it was invaluable."
The Flight Plan began to take shape this past Spring, as groups of internal constituents met with several groups before releasing. A cross-section of UND's 350 student-athletes, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Intercollegiate Athletic Counsel, the Women's Athletic Counsel and the UND Booster Board all provided input on the 2018-22 Flight Plan.
"This plan provides us a platform to continually answer our "why" for everyone on our staff on a daily basis as well as all of our stakeholders," Chaves said. "One of this plan's primary intent is to connect to our University's One UND plan that was rolled out last year and be complimentary to all of the initiatives in that plan."
