GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota men's tennis team picked up their fourth-straight win of the season by defeating the Augustana Vikings 6-1 on Friday morning at Choice Health & Fitness.
North Dakota jumped ahead to an early lead by taking two of the three doubles sets to clinch the first point on the day. The Fighting Hawks won the No. 1 doubles match 6-1 and the No. 2 match 6-2.
In singles play, UND defeated the Vikings in all but two sets on the day.
Ben Yeacker dropped two of three close sets to Augustana's North Knewtson 6-2, 3-6, 6-7 (10-9) in No. 4 singles play. In No. 2 singles
Chuck Tang picked up his first collegiate win when he topped Austin VanDerWeide in two heavily competitive sets by a score of 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. The remaining matches were handled quite easily by UND as they picked up their ninth overall team win of the season.
The Fighting Hawks hope to carry on their win-streak into this evening as they take on the Concordia Cobbers at 6:00 pm, also in Grand Forks at Choice Health & Fitness.
