TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of North Dakota softball team dropped a pair of contests against South Florida on Saturday to close out a trip that has spanned nearly the entire month of March.Â
UND (8-17) jumped out to an early lead in the game's opener, but the Bulls (8-6) rallied with the next 13 runs before throwing a no-hitter in the second contest to pick up the sweep.Â

South Florida erupted for 12 runs over the second and third innings to jump out to a 12-2 lead and never look back in a 13-4 victory over the Fighting Hawks in the first game of the day.Â
Jannay Jones and
Adrianna Dilal worked the contest in the circle for the visitors, but Jones was struck for seven earned runs and 10 hits over 2.1 frames to fall to 4-5 on the season. Dilal closed out the final 1.2 innings of play, striking out three and allowing two runs in the no-decision.Â
Madi Moore, who pitched in Friday's game, was electric with the bat in Saturday's opener, collecting three hits in three at-bats while also scoring a run to boost her team-leading average to .288.
Jocelyn Kirk also picked up a pair of hits, including a two-run home run in the top of the second to stake the visitors out to a 2-0 lead. Cassie Castenada also had a pair of RBIs with hit in the top of the fifth that drove home a pair of runs.Â
G2: South Florida 2, North Dakota 0Â
Two early runs by the Bulls in bottom of the first alongside a near-perfect performance in the circle gave South Florida a 2-0 win in the finale of Saturday's action.Â
Kirk and Moore were the Hawks on the base paths again, each drawing a walk, but they were the only players to reach base as the visitors were no-hit in the contest.Â
Nikki Pica was outstanding for UND in the circle, pitching a complete game with only two runs allowed and one strikeout. The graduate student allowed a pair of runs in the first inning, but kept the Bulls off the scoreboard for the rest of the game.Â
North Dakota will open conference play in Omaha next week with a four-game series against the Mavericks beginning at noon on Friday.Â
