Playoff Bound! North Dakota Will Host Sacramento State in FCS First Round

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – For the fourth time in the last five seasons, North Dakota is postseason bound. UND will host Sacramento State on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Noon (CT) in the opening round of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Playoffs, with the winner heading to No. 3 seed South Dakota the following weekend.

This will be the seventh all-time meeting between North Dakota and Sacramento State, with UND holding a 4-2 lead in the series. In the most recent contest, the Fighting Hawks defeated the Hornets 41-15 in Sacramento on Oct. 20, 2018. The last time the two squads met inside the Alerus Center, Sacramento State came away with a 34-27 victory on Oct. 21, 2017.

North Dakota enters the postseason with a 21-16 record in its postseason history. The Fighting Hawks were most recently in the playoffs last season and visited No. 9/10 Weber State. Despite trailing 24-0 late in the first half, the Hawks clawed their way back within seven late, but were not able to overcome the early deficit and fell by a score of 38-31.

The Fighting Hawks ended the 2023 regular season with the No. 15 strength of schedule, according to the Massey Ratings. NoDak enters the playoffs with the No. 24 scoring offense this season, averaging 30.9 points per game. The Fighting Hawks have also won eight of their last 11 one-score games.

UND is 25-2 in the Alerus Center in its last 27 games, only falling to the eventual FCS national champions in 2021 (North Dakota State) and 2022 (South Dakota State).

Ticket Information
Season ticket holders will have the option to purchase the same seats for the upcoming playoffs. They can log into their My North Dakota account and pay for them by clicking on the "INVOICE" button. Tickets will be loaded into their account, become visible and available for transfer beginning Wednesday evening. All tickets for season ticket holders are $25.

Season ticket holders have until 12 p.m. Wednesday to purchase those tickets. Tickets must be purchased by that time, those that go unclaimed will be made available to the general public beginning Wednesday afternoon.

General public tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov 20. These tickets will be available online at www.ticketmaster.com, in person at the REA Ticket Office or the Transystems Box Office at the Alerus Center. Ticket Offices open at 10:00 am.

All adult tickets are priced at $25.  Youth, ages 2 – 12, are priced at $10. All tickets are reserved.

Backed by Bubba's Bucks student tickets will be free of charge and available via their Green and White account starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20. All student tickets are General Admission in the lower sections of 211 and 212.
