DENVER -- The University of North Dakota men's tennis team fell, 7-0, to No. 43 Denver on Sunday morning from the Denver Tennis Park.
The Fighting Hawks remain in fourth place in the Summit League standings at 2-2 with just one match remaining for UND. The top-4 teams in the standings will advance to the Summit League Tennis Championships in Iowa.
Denver jumped out to a 1-0 lead in doubles play, grabbing victories on the No. 1 and 3 courts. The middle pairing of
Leandro Zgraggen and
Jerall Yasin were locked in a 4-4 battle when play was halted.
UND put together some strong matches in singles action against the unbeaten Pioneers, including
Ethan Terry falling a super tiebreaker on the No. 4 court, but DU captured all six contests to finish with a 7-0 match victory.
North Dakota will close the regular season next Sunday at Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
