GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota was slated to compete at the SDSU Classic this Friday but will now head to Jamestown instead for the Jimmie Invitational.
The Fighting Hawks will begin action at the Jimmie Invitational on Friday evening with the men's 8K at 9:30 a.m. The women's 6K race is scheduled to follow at 10:10 a.m. Live results of the meet will be provided by
Hero's Timing.
Earlier this afternoon, the Jackrabbit staff made the difficult decision to cancel the SDSU Classic due to safety concerns surrounding the forecasted high temperatures Friday evening.
Both UND Squads Remain in USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings
In the latest USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings, both North Dakota teams continue to be ranked.
The NoDak women remain in the top-10 and sit No. 9. They are the top ranked team from the Summit League in the poll. This is just the third time the Hawks have ranked in the top-10 regionally, with the only other times coming this season (No. 9 preseason and No. 8 after week 1).
UND's men moved up one spot to No. 11, giving them their best ranking in the poll since its creation in 2012. Previously, the Hawks ranked No. 12 in week 1 this season and also No. 12 in week 1 last year.
