NORFOLK, Va. – The North Dakota softball team improved to 17-8 on the season, picking up its eighth-straight victory with a 9-0 win over Holy Cross. The Crusaders fall to 4-8 on the year.
UND had 11 hits and nine runs, while only allowing one from Holy Cross.
Camryn Lasota had three hits on the day, driving in three RBIs, as Jaedyn Valdez and
Brooklyn Morris each had two. Aleksia Severson,
Hailey Bethune,
Taya Hopfauf and
Quincie Chunestudey each had a hit.
Tegan Livesay was dominant, going 7.0 innings, giving up just one hit and one walk, while striking out four. It was her seventh complete game of the season, improving to 7-3 on the year.
How It Happened
Valdez got the scoring started in the second, on a two-rbi single, scoring
Hailey Bethune and Katelyn Neumeyer, to go up 2-0.
In the fourth, Lasota had two-out, RBI single to center field, driving in
Olivia Dick, making it 3-0. After a scoreless fifth inning, the Hawks tacked on six runs across the final two innings, logging seven hits.
UND would cruise to its eighth-straight victory, now 14-1 over its last 15 games. NoDak will be back in action on Tuesday, for a double-header against Drexel at 2 and 4 p.m.
