Three Pole Vaulters Shine for UND in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Three pole vaulters represented the University of North Dakota men's and women's track and field team during competition at the Al Cassell Classic with a new all-time height and two new personal bests.
 
In the women's portion of the event, North Dakota claimed the top two placings off similar bar clearances. Emily Ash won with her mark of 11-8 (3.56m) while Emma Briggs took runner-up off a height of 11-8 (3.56m). It marks a new outdoor PR, serves as the 10th-best mark in program history and pushes her to 11th in the conference thus far.
 
Over for the men, Henry Nelson claimed a podium finish with his height of 12-5 1/2 (3.80m) for third place, serving as a new personal best. It now ties him for 13th in the conference so far this season.  
 
Action resumes for North Dakota track and field with the home Fighting Hawk Open on Wednesday, April 29 before continuing at the South Dakota Challenge on May 1 and 2 and the Cobbler Open on May 2
