COLUMBIA, Mo. – The North Dakota cross country teams turned in a strong showing at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday morning, highlighted by a fourth-place finish and personal records throughout the lineup for the Fighting Hawks women.

Every North Dakota women's competitor established a new 6K personal record, while UND's freshmen competed in a collegiate 6K for the first time. The performances helped North Dakota finish fourth in the 29-team field with 169 points, trailing only Missouri, Kentucky and Florida State. The Fighting Hawks finished one spot ahead of 22nd-ranked Arkansas with 169 points in the team standings, while Missouri captured the team title with 56 points.

Olivia Correale paced the Fighting Hawks with a 15th-place finish, crossing the line in 19:55.3. Shewaye Johnson added another top-25 performance for UND, taking 22nd in 20:11.8.

Marie-Louise Jorgensen was the third Fighting Hawk across the line, finishing 34th in 20:25.0, while Naja Weiler followed closely in 36th with a time of 20:28.0. Frida Giersdorff rounded out UND's scoring five, placing 62nd in 20:49.7.

Katherine Rogers finished 74th in 21:00.8 and Sonja Lindemann was 83rd in 21:07.6 to complete UND's top seven. Leni Hirt clocked a 21:32.1, Karolina Vynuchalova finished in 21:57.8 and Addison Beuche crossed the line in 22:33.8.

On the men's side, North Dakota placed 16th in the 30-team Gold Invite with 415 points and an average time of 24:06 over the 8K course.

Louis-Lys Fanucchi led the Fighting Hawks with a personal-record time of 23:26.4, finishing 28th overall. Matej Hrebacka also established a PR, crossing the line in 23:42.1 to finish 43rd.

Ian Busche was the third UND runner across the line, finishing 98th in 24:15.4. Henrik Lindstrot followed in 24:33.7, while Aleksa Milanovic completed the Fighting Hawks' scoring five with a time of 24:36.1.

Jack Turnbull added another personal record with a time of 24:37.3, while Ethan Adams crossed the line in 24:41.4. Weston Forward became the fourth Fighting Hawk to record a PR, breaking the 25-minute mark with a time of 24:56.7.

Jacob Sarto made his Fighting Hawk debut and finished his first race for North Dakota in 25:16.7, while Jonas Weschle rounded out the UND contingent with a time of 25:21.6.
