The first of its kind in the Summit League, she meets directly with student-athletes to better develop learning strategies and create awareness of academic risk factors.

Along with that responsibility, she oversees the directive studies program and advises the football team and both golf programs. She also assists with the UNIV 101 transition course that helps first-year students transition from high school to college life.

Before UND, Wattenhofer spent one year at the University of Minnesota as an assistant athletic academic advisor/learning specialist for football, track, volleyball, wrestling, swim and dive, gymnastics, hockey, and basketball. During her graduate studies at Briar Cliff University, Wattenhofer served as the graduate assistant for the men’s and women’s golf programs while getting a double master's degree in Human Resources and Sports Management. She earned her undergraduate degree in sports management and business finance from the University of Minnesota - Morris in 2018 while also participating on the swim and dive team as well as the golf team. She earned all-conference honors for the Cougars all four years.

Wattenhofer is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Development Professionals (N4A) and was accepted into the N4A PDI class of 2022. She also received the VPAA Award for Outstanding Professional Academic Advising in 2021 during the Founders Day Celebration at the University of North Dakota.
