Kaitlyn Parsons joined the University of North Dakota athletics communications staff in July 2026 as a Sports Communications Specialist. In her current role,she serves as the communications contact for Fighting Hawks’ volleyball, men’s basketball, and softball programs.

Parsons came to UND after eight months at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, Wis, as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. During her time with the Falcons, she supported all 35 varsity athletic programs while overseeing nearly 60 student workers and coordinating media efforts across the department.

Before CUW, Parsons served as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at the University of Indianapolis. While working with the Greyhounds, she was the communications contact for men’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball, women’s volleyball, and track and field/cross country programs. She also helped cover the softball programs run to the NCAA DII World Series in 2024 and multiple national champions and All-Americans in track and field.

A native of Bartlett, Ill., Parsons earned Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a concentration in Sport Management and a minor in Communications from Adrian College. She later received her Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Indianapolis.

Parsons also has longstanding ties to the North Dakota community. Her maternal grandmother was raised in nearby Grafton, N.D. and her aunt, Julie Torested, graduated from UND in 1976.
