Former UND soccer goalkeeper Lauren Sera is in her first year as an assistant coach for the Fighting Sioux.
Sera was named to the 2009 Great West Fall All-Academic team in her senior season. She was also named to the 2006-07 North Central Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
A three-year volunteer for the Pediatric Physical Therapy Department at the Grand Forks Hospital, Sera was recently named a co-winner of the 2010 Jewish Athlete of the Year Award, also known as the Idy and Max Nusgart Memorial Award, at the Rady Jewish Community Centre’s “Y” sports dinner at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sera is a 2005 graduate of Grant Park High School. She played for the South End soccer club and the Manitoba Provincial team.
Sera earned her bachelor’s degree from UND in biology.
