UND’s all-time leader in defenseman points, Monique Lamoureux-Morando returns to the UND women’s hockey program for her first season as the team’s volunteer coach, where she will help oversee the development of the team’s goaltenders.

During her three-year career at North Dakota, Lamoureux-Morando became the program’s No. 2 all-time points leader with 190 career points. She was also a two-time All-American and two-time Patty Kazamaier Award nominee.

On the international level, Lamoureux-Morando has competed with the U.S. National Women’s team in two Olympic Winter Games, six IIHF Women’s World Championships and eight Four Nations Cup tournaments.

Along with her sister, Joceylne, the two became the state of North Dakota’s first two-time Olympic medalists, winning silver with Team USA in both the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Both were also inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

A native of Grand Forks, N.D., Lamoureux-Morando lives in Grand Forks with her husband, Anthony Morando.
