Tanja Eisenschmid begins her first year as a student volunteer coach for the UND women’s program, having finished her playing eligibility in the spring of 2016.

Eisenschmid became one of UND’s first seven Olympians, making her Olympic debut at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi with Team Germany. In addition to participating in the Olympic Games, Eisenschmid has been a member of the German National Team since 2011.

During her time at UND, she skated in a total of 133 games and tallied 39 points off of seven goals and 32 assists. She ended her four-year career at UND as the team’s fifth all-time leading defenseman in career points.

Eisenschmid received her bachelor’s degree in communication from North Dakota in 2016 and she is currently pursuing her master’s degree at UND.
