North Dakota falls to Minnesota 5-1

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Minnesota's Bobbi Ross scored two early goals to lead the Gophers to the 5-1 victory. North Dakota's goal came from sophomore Kelsey Fletcher (Vadnais Heights, Minn.).

North Dakota has now lost to Minnesota in 14 straight games. The Fighting Sioux were outshot 41-13 in the contest. Minnesota scored four power-play goals in seven chances. North Dakota was unable to capitalize on five power-play opportunities.

Minnesota scored two goals in the second period and one goal in the third period to ice the 5-1 victory. Minnesota improves to 17-8-1 overall and 14-7-1 in the WCHA. North Dakota falls to 3-23-2 overall and 0-21-1 in the WCHA.

North Dakota returns home to face Ohio State on Friday. Game time is set 7:07 p.m. and will be played at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
