Track and Field head to Emporia

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The track and field Division II Challenge is taking place this weekend in Emporia, Kansas and the Fighting Sioux men and women's teams will be in the mix. The challenge, hosted by Emporia State, will start on Friday and run through Saturday at the Zol Witten Track at Fran Welch Stadium.

The meet will be both teams first meet after a weeklong break after the Augustana Butler Invite was canceled last Friday due to poor weather conditions.

NCC Honors
Heidi Evans was named North Central Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on April 3rd. Evans, a senior from Roseau, Minn., won both the 3000-meter (10:15.41) and 1500-meter (4:33.96) runs at the Florida State Relays. The mark in the 3000-meters is a provisional qualifying performance for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships while the 1500-meter time narrowly missed the mark.
