GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? New University of North Dakota women's hockey head coach Brian Idalski's Fighting Sioux women's hockey team will play a 34-game regular season schedule in 2007-08 ? with 16 games at home and 18 away, the UND athletic department announced today.
 
Highlighting the home schedule are series against two-time defending NCAA champion Wisconsin (Dec. 8-9) and 2007 NCAA runnerup Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 3-4).
 
The Fighting Sioux will begin play with a home exhibition game on Sept. 29 against Manitoba that brings UND's home schedule to 17 games.
 
UND will then start its regular season with four games on the road. First up are contests on Oct. 5 and 6 against Boston University and Northeastern that will be played at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus.
 
The Sioux then head to Troy, N.Y., where they will play a two-game series against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
 
UND will open its home season with a two-game series against Bemidji State on Oct. 19-20 that will mark the beginning of a six-game homestand.
 
Ohio State comes to Ralph Engelstad Arena on Oct. 26-27 followed by Minnesota Duluth.
 
After a road series at St. Cloud State on Nov. 9-10, UND returns home for a two-game non-conference series against Niagara on Nov. 16-17.
   
Other WCHA opponents scheduled to play in Grand Forks, N.D., in 2007-08 are Minnesota State (Nov. 30-Dec. 1), Wisconsin (Dec. 8-9), Minnesota (Jan. 18-19) and St. Cloud State (Feb. 8-9).
