Clausnitzer, Evans named to the USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Track and Field Team

GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? Fighting Sioux track and field athletes Jessica Clausnitzer (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.) and Heidi Evans (Sr., Roseau, Minn.) have been named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Women's All-Academic Track and Field Team.

 

The USTFCCCA honors Division II individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field season. To qualify for the team, student athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

 

Clausnitzer earned two All-American honors this season after taking fifth place in the pole vault at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships and tying for eighth place in the event at the Outdoor Championships this season.

 

Evans is the NCAA Division II National Champion in the 1,500-meter run and a four-time All-American. Evans was also the NCC Outdoor Champion in both the 1,500-meter run and 3,000-meter run and was named NCC Outstanding Athlete at Outdoor Track & Field Championships this season.
