Meet and skate with the Sioux on Sept. 28

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- This year's Meet the Sioux event for men's and women's hockey will take place Sunday, Sept. 28, from 3-5 p.m. in the Olympic Rink at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The event will be an opportunity for youth to not only meet, but skate with current student-athletes from the University of North Dakota men's and women's hockey team. Kids ages 3 to 14 will be able to take to the ice with their favorite players, starting at 3 p.m. Skaters must provide their own skates and must be able to skate on their own, as parents will not be allowed on the ice.

Immediately following the hour-long skate session, the teams will hold an autograph session from 4-5 p.m. on the main concourse of the Ralph.

Due to both time and space constraints, and for the general safety of everyone involved, only the first 300 children in attendance will be allowed to skate. The autograph session will be open to everyone in attendance.

The Super Dog stand, operated by the Sioux Boosters, will be selling a combo of hot dogs, chips and a soda for $1.

Free autograph cards from the Grand Forks Herald will be available or you can bring your own item!

Fans should park in the north lot and enter the north Olympic Arena entrance.
