There are some things in the game of basketball that simply shouldn't happen ... losing a game when you have a five-point lead with less than a minute to go is one of those things.
As many of you may know, this happened to the Fighting Sioux when we played in Seattle less than a month ago. When the game was over, we couldn't believe what just happened.
Myself and the team want nothing more than to prove that something like that will never happen again. This is our last regular season game, as well as Senior Night. I strongly encourage everyone, young and old, to join us on Friday. I would love nothing more than to be able to celebrate Senior Night with all of our many fans?my second family.
There will not be much time to dwell on this night, however, because we will be leaving early the next morning for Illinois on our road trip of the season.
We are looking to end the season by reaching some of our goals. Two of those goals is to finish the season 18-11 and to end the season undefeated at home!
It would be so easy to simply realize it is the end of season and coast. But this is not what we are going to do. We are going to end this season?my last season?with a BANG!
We are the first Division I women's basketball team in North Dakota history, the first of a new Fighting Sioux tradition ... We plan to end strong and make this a season to remember.
