UND ranked eighth in USA Today poll

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Cornell University is the new No. 1 in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll while the Sioux remain ranked No. 8.

The University of Wisconsin claims the No. 2 spot with 168 points and nine first-place votes following a weekend split with the University of Minnesota Duluth, while Mercyhurst College remains at No. 3 with 152 points and two first-place votes after defeating Colgate University. The University of Minnesota Duluth (141) stays at No. 4 following the weekend split with Wisconsin, and Boston University (111) rounds out the top five after earning two victories over Princeton University.

Northeastern University makes its 2010-11 poll debut at No. 10 following a win over Brown University.

This weekend features two top-10 teams squaring off, as No. 8 University of North Dakota will host No. 2 University of Wisconsin in a weekend series.

NOTES: The Western Collegiate Hockey Association leads all conferences with five ranked teams, while Hockey East has three, and ECAC Hockey and College Hockey America each have one team ranked ... A total of 13 teams received votes.
