Lamoureuxs, Team USA earn silver medals at Olympics

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- University of North Dakota student-athletes Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux earned silver medals in the 2010 Winter Olympics, as Canada defeated Team USA 2-0 tonight.

Canada was led by Marie-Philip Poulin, who scored two goals, and goaltender Shannon Szabados made 28 saves.

"Szabados played out of her mind," Monique Lamoureux said in an Associated Press story. "It's never fun to lose, especially in a championship game."

U.S. goaltender Jessie Vetter made 27 saves in net.

Lamoureux had four shots on goal, while Jocelyne Lamoureux had one. Both had an even plus-minus. Monique Lamoureux ends the Olympics with 4 goals and 10 points, third-most on Team USA. Jocelyne Lamoureux ends with two goals and four assists, and the best face-off winning percentages on the team.
