Best of 2000s: Sweet 16

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Your favorites continue to move through the bracket, now down to the Sweet 16.

Field

One upset dots this bracket, as the recent softball conference championship edged out a playoff football game during the 2001 national championship run. The football 2003 semifinal win over North Alabama squeeked into the next round (51%/49%), barely beating out a baseball doubleheader that saw a perfect game and a no-hitter.

Pool, course, track, general

Two upsets in the bottom of this bracket moved through three swimming events into the sweet 16. Carissa Gormally's two national championships took down (51%/49%) a sweep of the relay events by the men's team in 2007. Rodrigo Ferreira's sweep of the NCC events in 2007 (ranked No. 10) took down the second-seeded retirement of Roger Thomas (72%/28%).

Ice

All the favorites, minus one, advanced on to the next round. The one upset came from the recent Broadmoor Trophy run by the 2010 men's hockey team. Despite it's No. 13 rank (the lowest still alive), it beat out the 2006 hosting of the NCAA West Regional (57%/43%).

Court

Once again all the favorites advanced, minus one. In this bracket, however, the upset wasn't surprising, but the result was. The 2010 volleyball Great West championship handily beat the 2007 women's basketball team advancing to the Elight Eight (73%/27%).
