GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota senior Kristi Dahlheimer has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII women's track and field/cross country first team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

It is the second straight year Dahlheimer has earned academic all-district honors. The Anoka, Minn., native is graduate student in physical therapy and was named UND's 2009-10 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for all sports in May. She owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a graduate student after carrying a 4.0 GPA as an undergrad.

Dahlheimer placed fifth in the steeplechase at the 2010 Great West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship and recorded the fifth-fastest steeplechase time in UND history at Drake's Jim Duncan Invitational in April. Dahlheimer also won the steeplechase event at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Invitational in March.

Earlier this year, Dahlheimer was named to her second straight GWC All-Academic Fall team and placed 17th at the 2009 GWC Cross Country Championship.

Last season, Dahlheimer was named to the 2008-09 GWC All-Academic Winter/Spring team and was named UND's Most Improved track and field student-athlete.

As an academic all-district first team selection, Dahlheimer now advances to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America national ballot.
