Eberle takes second on 3-meter at Mizzou Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Following another day of action at the Mizzou Tiger Invite, the University of North Dakota men's swimming and diving finished with nine top 10 finishes.

Kansas is in fifth with a score of 405, Saint Louis is in sixth place with a score of 355, and North Texas sits in seventh with 338 points. Rounding out the competition is UC Davis in eighth (310) and Missouri S&T in ninth with 271.5 points.

UND's 200 medley relay 'A' team of sophomore Adam Gannon (Plymouth, Minn.), freshman Austin Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo.), sophomore Elliot Wilcox (Hastings, Minn.), and freshman Cameron Hyde (Sartell, Minn.) clocked in at 1:31.53 for fourth place.

After shaving over four seconds off of his preliminary time (4:06.58), Gannon led the team in the 400 IM with a time of 4:02.18 for ninth place. Freshman MacIan Campbell (Stillwater, Minn.) took 11th with a time of 4:11.54 (4:12.02 prelim) and junior Zak Gosney (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) placed 14th with a time of 4:20.15 (4:21.95 prelim).

Junior George Philbin (Plymouth, Minn.) finished eighth in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.64 (1:41.06), Wilcox took 13th (1:43.24; 1:43.16 prelim) and freshman Zachary Stettner (Minnetonka, Minn.) placed 14th (1:44.20; 1:42.50 prelim).

UND finished 9-10 in the 100 breast. Smith clocked in at 56.79 (56.97 prelim) followed by Gannon with a time of 56.92 (57.80 prelim).

Freshman Jacob Berry (Cambridge, Minn.) led the way in the 100 breast with a time of 52.37 (51.64 prelim) for 10th place. Sophomore Ian McKenzie (Norman, Okla.) took 13th (53.29; 53.54 prelim) and sophomore Daniel Jacobson (Ramsey, Minn.) finished 16th (54.17; 54.47 prelim).

The 800 free relay 'A' team of Gannon, Philbin, Stettner, and Wilcox took fourth with a time of 6:49.35 to close the pool events.

Junior Richard Eberle (Fort Collins, Colo.) led the team on the 3-meter with a score of 322.80 to take second, bettering his preliminary mark of 320.90. Freshman Andrew Germain (Blaine, Minn.) took eighth with a score of 253.00 (238.95 prelim).
