Softball adds home doubleheader, opens GWC play

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- University of North Dakota head coach Eric Oakley announced today the addition of a doubleheader against Jamestown College on Wednesday, March 28. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Apollo Softball Complex.

The games will be the home opener for UND, which has an all-time record of 16-5 against the Jimmies. Live stats and an audio webcast will be available at www.FightingSioux.com.

The Fighting Sioux return to action this weekend at the Great West Conference Softball Cluster in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Consisting of three doubleheaders, UND faces Houston Baptist, Utah Valley and Nebraska Omaha, respectively, on Friday-Sunday. Results determine seeding in the Great West Conference Tournament in May

The Fighting Sioux were the 2010 GWC champions and finished runner-up in 2011.

North Dakota enters the weekend with an 8-19 overall record.
