Women's track competes at Drake Alternative Meet

SAINT PETER, Minn. -- The North Dakota women's track and field team continued its preparation for next month's Big Sky Conference Championship, taking part in the Drake Alternative Track and Field Meet hosted today by Gustavus Adolphus.

A pair of freshmen, Hailey Brinkman (Grey Eagle, Minn.) and Bethany Schultz (Rochester, Minn.), captured UND's best individual finishes of the day. Brinkman took fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.70 meters (35 feet, 1 1/4 inches), while Schultz was fifth in the discus with a finals mark of 41.09 meters (134'10").

Jessica Lynch (So., Cologne, Minn.) was sixth in the 5K with at ime of 19:10.52, while Ashley Fedie (So., Chanhassen, Minn.) placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.57 meters (5-01.75).

Freshman Kaylee Roelike (Freeport, Minn.) was seventh in the 800-meters, crossing the line in 2:27.39.

UND is back in action on Monday at the Cobber Twilight in Moorhead, Minn.
