GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota women's hockey team was ranked eighth in the latest USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll that was released on Monday.
With 54 points, UND dropped a half spot to No. 8 after being tied for seventh with Clarkson in last week's poll, as both teams garnered 49 points. The Golden Knights defeated then No. 3 Harvard over the weekend, jumping up to No. 5 in this week's poll.
Minnesota picked up two first place votes and 139 points remaining in the no. 2 spot, while Wisconsin moved back up to No. 3 with 112 points. WCHA rival Minnesota Duluth remains in ninth, earning 40 points in this week's poll.
North Dakota begins postseason play this weekend, Feb.27-March 1, hosting Ohio State for the first round of WCHA playoffs. The best-of-three series begins on Friday at 2 p.m. (CT).
