MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Freshman Molli Detloff and junior Jayd Eggert took home first-place finishes in their respective events to close out the final day of competition for the North Dakota women's track and field team on Saturday at the Shamrock Invite.
Detloff took top honors in the discus with a throw of 159 feet, 2 inches, (48.51m) while Eggert won the javelin hitting a mark of 153 feet (46.65m).
The UND throwers as a whole had a good showing, as Bethany Schultz placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 142 feet, four inches (43.38m). In the shot put, Katelyn Weber also took fourth, hitting 44 feet, two and half inches (13.47m). Alyssa Lueck competed in both the shot put and discus, placing fifth in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, two inches (13.46m) and sixth in the discus with a throw of 141 feet, four inches (43.08m).
On the track, UND took eighth in the 400-meter relay, as the group of Heather Harrower, Natasha Brown, Paige Slemmons and Tianna McKinney turned in a time of 48.22.
In the 400m dash, McKinney clocked in at 57.11 for sixth place and Harrower finished just right behind with a time of 57.12.
In the 800m, Jessica Lindsay took seventh with a time of 2:16.28 and Megan Kienholz followed up with a time of 2:16.40 for eighth.
Finishing up the day, Rachel Dryburgh highlighted UND in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.47 for a seventh-place finish.
North Dakota returns to the track on April 4 for the Dakota Duals in Sioux Falls, S.D.
