Eggert wraps up NCAA West Prelims for UND

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of North Dakota's five-person contingent at the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round had its final performance of the meet this evening, wrapping action at the University of Texas.

Junior thrower Jayd Eggert finished 29th in the West in the javelin on Saturday, hitting a mark of 145 feet, 5 inches (44.32 meters).

A total of 48 participants competed in the event.

Eggert had qualified earlier this month by finishing second and collecting all-conference honors at the Big Sky Championship, where she threw a school-record mark of 164-05 (50.12m).

Today's javelin marked the second and final event of the West Prelims for the Minot, N.D., native. On Thursday, Eggert placed 44th in the hammer with a mark of 175-10 (53.60m).
