GRAND FORKS, N.D. – With 30 points, the University of North Dakota women's hockey team earned the No. 9 spot in this week's USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll.
The Fighting Hawks had fallen out of the polling after suffering losses to No. 1 Wisconsin over the Oct. 22-23 weekend, but regained position in the top 10 after sweeping then-No. 10 Bemidji State over the past weekend.
Fellow Western Collegiate Hockey Association members, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth claimed the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively, a top the poll. With the losses, Bemidji State fell from the top 10, but remained the only other team to receive votes in the poll.
North Dakota enters a bye week, taking off competition for the Four Nation's Tournament that takes place this week in Finland. UND will return to the ice to take on No. 3 Minnesota Duluth, Nov. 12-13, at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
