About the Subway Holiday Classic  Â
UND is 19-9-4 (.656) all-time in the Subway Holiday Classic -- typically played during the week of Thanksgiving -- after a tie and a loss last year against Union.
Last year's series with Union marked the 12th time in the last 16 years that UND faced a non-conference opponent in a two-game series for the Subway Holiday Classic. The other three tournaments featured four-team 'classic' formats, all of which were won by UND.
UND swept two-game series against Canisius  (2004-05), Colorado College (2011-12), Holy Cross (2012-13) and Alabama-Huntsville (2015-16), and nabbed a win and a tie vs. Omaha (2014-15). UND has split series with Harvard (2005-06), New Hampshire (2007-08), Cornell (2008-09) and St. Lawrence (2013-14), and was swept by Michigan Tech (2006-07).
About Alaska Anchorage  Â
The Seawolves have just one win in their first 10 games after dropping a WCHA series at Northern Michigan last weekend.
Sophomore G Kris Carlson was stellar between the pipes in last Saturday's 2-1 loss, turning aside 38 of 40 NMU shots. Carlson (3.07 GAA, .899 SV%) and classmate Brody Claeys (2.42, .918) have started five and four games, respectively, for UAA.
UAA has been shut out in five of its 10 games this season and ranks dead-last in the NCAA in scoring offense, averaging exactly one goal per game.
The Seawolves' lone victory to date was a 4-3 win over Colorado College on Oct. 7. Four different players found the net in that game while Claeys turned aside 29 shots.
