GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- University of North Dakota senior outfielder Taylor Nadler was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She becomes UND's fifth academic all-America softball honoree in the program's history.
Nadler is a 4.0 grade point average student, recently graduating with her degree in kinesiology. She paced the Fighting Hawks in a number of offensive categories during this past record-breaking season, including batting average (.325), hits (53), doubles (16), runs batted in (32) and slugging percentage (.534). Her doubles total was just two shy of the school's single-season mark in that category and despite playing just two seasons at North Dakota, she ranks ninth on UND's career list for doubles as well.
The New Haven, Mo., native has started all 108 games in her two-year Fighting Hawk career, leading UND to the Big Sky Conference Tournament in each of those seasons. She helped lead North Dakota to a new single-season wins mark this past year and the school's first-ever win at the Big Sky Conference Tournament.
Nadler was this season's co-recipient of UND's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year (all sports).
UND's last academic all-America softball honoree was Casie Hanson, who secured three CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades (2007, 2008, 2010).
