GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota freshman
Jacob Bernard-Docker has been named National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Defenseman of the Week after he helped North Dakota to a sweep of Colorado College. It is his second NCHC Defenseman of the Week accolade.
Bernard-Docker aided in two of Friday's goals in UND's 4-3 overtime win. He set-up
Nick Jones' goal midway through the first period Friday to give the Fighting Hawks a 1-0 lead. Scoring first both nights, UND improved to 8-3-1 when it takes the first lead in the game this season.
He would then add an assist on the game-winner Friday, blasting a shot from the point where
Ludvig Hoff was able to redirect for the win.
The freshman from Canmore, Alberta was a team-best +3 for the weekend.
It marks the fifth time a UND player has won an NCHC weekly award this season and the fourth defenseman honor.
Bernard-Docker and the Fighting Hawks travel to Omaha, Neb., on Friday and Saturday to face the Mavericks.
