NOTES: North Dakota aims for first road win of season

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – RV/RV North Dakota hits the road for the third time this season, taking on Idaho State on Saturday afternoon from Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho at 2 p.m. (CT). Fans can catch all the action on Pluto TV or on the Home of Economy Radio Network.

This will be the eighth meeting between North Dakota and Idaho State, with UND holding a 5-2 advantage in the series. The Hawks have had even better luck when playing at Holt Arena, claiming all four contests. After UND rattled off four straight wins to open the series, the Bengals have won two of the last three meetings.

UND has been stubborn against the pass in its first four games of the season, allowing only 165.0 passing yards per game to rank 11th in the FCS. The Fighting Hawks have gone against three teams currently ranked inside the top-15 in the FCS for passing offense. UC Davis finished with 357 yards through the air, the most UND has surrendered all year, and the first time the Hawks have allowed more than 200 passing yards in a game this season.

It's a rare break from the ranked opponents this week for the Fighting Hawks, as this game currently sits as the lone, non-ranked or receiving votes opponent for the green and white over an eight-week stretch. UND is currently 2-2 during that stretch, knocking off No. 24 Sam Houston State and No. 12 UC Davis. The pair of home wins over ranked foes is the first time in the program's DI history (2008-present) that UND has defeated two ranked teams at the Alerus Center in the same year.
