VERMILION, S.D. – Though North Dakota (11-18, 6-10 Summit) and No. 25 South Dakota (26-4, 14-2 Summit) are known for their Kelly Green, and Red primary colors, the regular season finale in Vermilion was a colorful and physical Black and Blue contest as the two teams combined for 58 fouls and 46 turnovers in the 87-54 Coyote victory.

The UND defense played with a hustle and gusto that set the tone for the opening half as South Dakota responded with brutish play and minimal production as a result, accounting for only 14 points in the second quarter alone. In the opening 20 minutes of the contest, the game saw a combined 27 personal fouls, including five on the offensive end of the floor.

The Fighting Hawks only allowed the Coyotes to shoot 5-of-18 from the floor in the second quarter, disrupting the nationally ranked foe to a clip of 27 percent and only 1-of-6 behind the arc in the half. USD only scored six points in the opening seven minutes of the second period.

While Klabo was UND's leading scorer in the half, she also caused a pair of turnovers – including taking a charge in front of the Fighting Hawk bench – had two blocks. The charge resulted in a UND trey shortly thereafter as Jaclyn Jarnot hit a three with 3:25 left in the half.]

Klabo closed the night with 13 points while Jaclyn also contributed 10 points. Alaina Jarnot dished a game-high four assists, including two to her sister Jaclyn on a pair three-pointers. North Dakota scored 20 points off Yotes turnovers.

With UND making its Summit League Tournament debut next week, Head Coach Travis Brewster reinforced the basics when asked about the takeaways from today to apply for next week's tournament.

"Some of it's the rebounding, we didn't do a very good job on the glass, and that hurt us. The next piece is our intensity on both ends of the floor. There are a couple things on the floor, and next mentally is our confidence. We need get some confidence to go down and make shots," he said in the postgame.

North Dakota will play either Oral Roberts or Denver in the First Round of the Summit League Tournament Sunday, March 10. Denver will tipoff with Omaha at 8 p.m. Central on Saturday night to determine the final standings.
