GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Only days removed from its 2020 opener in Brookings, S.D., the University of North Dakota track & field program will host the UND Indoor Open at the High Performance Center Jan. 31 - Feb. 1.

Admission to the UND Open will be $5 for fans, $2 for those 18 and under, and free for students, staff and military with ID. Fans can also follow live results on HerosTiming.com.

Friday and Saturday's meet will be the first of two home meets for the Fighting Hawks in 2020, and serve as the first competition for UND's pentathletes and heptathletes, who'll begin competing on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Admission to Friday's multi-events are free.

In their first meet of 2020, the Fighting Hawks had a sextet of times and marks that cracked the top-10, led by Adam Mehr's 62-8.75 (19.12m) mark in the weight throw, breaking his previous best by over two feet and moving him up to No. 2 all-time at UND in the event.

Distance runners Erica Eades and Luke Labatte each cracked the top-five in their respective middle distance events as Eades finished third in the 800-meters with a 2:12.53 to move into fifth all-time in the event. Her time was the fastest in UND's Division I history.

Labatte, who made his collegiate indoor debut at the Jim Emmerich Invitational, ran the fourth fastest mile in program history with a 4:17.61 in the event. The time was the fastest since 2014, and only the third time under 4:18 since 1997.

The Fighting Hawks will return to the track Feb. 7 and 8 in Vermillion, S.D. for the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet at the University of South Dakota's Mildred J. Hillenbrand Memorial Track at the DakotaDome.
