MANCHESTER, England – Former University of North Dakota women's basketball player Samantha Roscoe (2013-17) received her first call up to Great Britain's National Basketball Team, ahead of the United Kingdom's qualifying match for the 2021 FIBA European Women's Basketball Championship. She is one of three debutantes with the national team for this weekend's qualifier.

The former Fighting Hawk learned of her call by the British Basketball Federation on October 31 in preparations for its qualifying match versus Poland on Nov. 14 in Istanbul, Turkey. Great Britain currently sits atop the Group F Table with three points, defeating Poland, 75-63, on Nov. 14, 2019. Saturday's game will be Great Britain Basketball's first since Olympic Qualifying in February. Samantha Roscoe

Roscoe, a co-captain on UND's 2017 Big Sky Championship team, spent the 2019-20 season playing overseas with the Women's British Basketball League's (WBBL) Manchester Mystics, leading the Mystics with 18.5 points per game while averaging 8.5 rebounds per game. Roscoe will play the 2020-21 season in Germany with Goettingen of the Bundesliga, the same team former Fighting Hawk teammate Jill Morton played for in 2019-20.

The Perth, Australia native appeared in 98 contests for UND, and averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting .442 from the field in the Kelly Green and White in her final two seasons.
