ON TAP
Top-ranked North Dakota renews its rivalry with No. 4 Denver, the lone "NCHC West" team that UND will face in the pod. The Pioneers opened their season with a 2-1 loss to Minnesota Duluth Wednesday evening.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
All 38 games in the #NCHCpod will be telecast live on Midco Sports Network, the primary TV home of North Dakota hockey. Alex Heinert does the play-by-play for nine of UND's games, with former Fighting Sioux goalie Jake Brandt handling the color analysis. Ben Holden and Dave Starman will call one of North Dakota's games in the pod as well.  All games will also be available for purchase via streaming on NCHC.tv by buying a pod pass, a team-specific season pass or a full season pass which includes all NCHC games. See nchc.tv for pricing structures.

All UND men's hockey games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the UND Sports Home of Economy Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio app. The flagship station for the network is 96.1 FM (The Fox). Longtime broadcaster Tim Hennessy, in his 42nd season as the voice of UND men's hockey, calls the action while Steve Olson will provide color analysis when the season resumes regular series play.

SERIES HISTORY WITH DENVER
North Dakota has a 149-128-16 all-time record against Denver, including a 3-0-1 record last season. UND allowed just four goals in the four games last season.

MILESTONE TRACKER
197    Brad Berry career games
99    Matt Kiersted career games played
98    Grant Mismash career games played

SCORELESS STREAK SITS AT...
After back-to-back shutouts in Baxter Arena, North Dakota's defense has not allowed a goal in the last 125:02 of game action. UND's last back-to-back shutouts were Nov. 18-19, 2016 at St. Cloud State (Cam Johnson) and its last streak of at least three straight shutouts came Dec. 5, 2015 - Jan. 1, 2016 when Johnson ran off four straight shutouts.

DEBUTS
Wednesday's win over Miami marked the NCAA debuts for freshmen Riese Gaber, Tyler Kleven, Griffin Ness and Jake Sanderson and the UND debut for sophomore Brendan Budy (Denver in 2018-19).

PIN-TWO
Shane Pinto setup both UND goals in the season opener. It marked his first career two-assist game. He tallied a dozen assists as a freshman last season.

OFF ON A GOOD FOOT
Adam Scheel has a knack for starting the season strong. With his shutout Wednesday, he now has back-to-back shutouts in the first game of the season and is 2-0-1 in his season debuts with a paltry 0.33 GAA and a .978 save percentage.

KILLIN IT
North Dakota's penalty kill unit finished at 88.0 percent last season, 5th-best in the NCAA and tops in the NCHC. It continued its solid play in the season-opening win vs. Miami, squandering all four RedHawk man-advantages. Dating back to last year, UND has now gone five consecutive games without allowing a PPG and has killed off each of the last 16 opponent power plays.

DECEMBERS TO REMEMBER
In the Brad Berry era, the Fighting Hawks have recorded an impressive 14-3-1 record in the month of December. Wednesday's win over Miami was actually the first over an unranked team in that stretch. UND's previous 13 December wins were all over nationally-ranked teams.
