In ongoing efforts to ensure the health and safety of the Greater Grand Forks community, University of North Dakota student-athletes are making adjustments to their annual food drive. As part of an initiative by the Summit League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for a league wide community service project, each member institution is challenged to hold a food drive to collect the most food and monetary donations to support a local food bank in their community.
Â
"With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the student-athletes and the athletic department want to do our part in preventing the spread of the virus to protect our community," said Director of Student-Athlete Development,
Tyler Burmeister. "In following along with CDC and UND recommendations, we will be shifting our collection process to an online platform."
