After a 6-1, 6-3 win by
Johnatan Parat on the No. 5 court to remain perfect in singles play and tie the match at one, the Golden Eagles rattled off back-to-back victories to take a 3-1 lead and push the match to its brink. Among those defeats was
Andreja Petrovic, who fell for the first time for the first time in his collegiate career on Saturday, but
Lukas Buth picked up the freshman from the No. 2 court by rallying with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the second and third set to cut the score to 3-2.
Facing elimination, UND turned to its middle courts. Both Aynedjian and Kuhlman had dropped their first sets, 7-6, before rallying to even their matches at one with victories in the second set. Aynedjian won his tiebreaker, 6-4, to even the overall score at three and turn all eyes to Kuhlman and the fourth court. There, the Grand Forks native held on for a 7-6 win and sealed the comeback victory for the Hawks.
