Tulsa, Okla.- North Dakota Volleyball was defeated by Oral Roberts in three sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) on Saturday afternoon. The first two sets in followed the same script – North Dakota battling point for point into the late teens when an Oral Roberts point run sealed the deal for the Golden Eagles.
In the first set
Ashlyn Olson recorded four kills while
Lexi Ahrens added three.
Early in the second set The Hawks used two
Darian Chwialkowski service aces to grab a 4-2 advantage. Midway through the second set, Alex Albinson added three kills but it wasn't enough as the Eagles pulled away to win 25-19.
The Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third with a kill from McAlister Gayle but ORU went on to be victorious 25-14.
Olson and Gayle led North Dakota with seven kills each.
Madi Hart recorded a team high ten digs.
Elizabeth Norris just missed a double-double with 11 kills and nine digs.
The Fighting Hawks return to the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Thursday, October 28 to host Western Illinois.
