GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota Director of Athletics Bill Chaves has released the following statement on name, image and likeness. 

"Today is both an exciting and historic day for intercollegiate athletics as we welcome in potential opportunities for student-athletes relative to their name, image and likeness. Given the decisions of the past week by the NCAA which led only to an approval of an interim NIL policy by the Board of Governors late yesterday, we are now working expeditiously to craft and approve a UND policy surrounding NIL. In the interim between today and that time, we will continue to communicate and work with our student-athletes on a case-by-case basis on anything that may arise in this space."
